Building Spiritual Resiliency

We often hear the word “self-care” tossed around. But lately, I’ve been thinking—what if we shifted our focus from self-care to building resiliency? Even more specifically, spiritual resiliency.

Spiritual resiliency is about more than just surviving tough seasons—it’s about standing strong in your faith, even when things feel dry or overwhelming. Here are a few ways we can build that kind of strength:

💪 How Do We Build Spiritual Resiliency?

  • Know Who You Are in Christ
    • You are enough—even on the days you feel like hiding under the covers. (Eph. 2:10)
    • God invites you to join Him in His work, not to carry it all yourself.
    • We’re not here to rescue or judge—we’re here to propose Christ, not impose Him.
  • Spend Time with God
    • Jesus made time to be alone with God—so should we (see Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4).
    • Read His Word. Pray. Reflect on your relationship with Him.
  • Stop Hiding
    • Like Adam and Eve, we sometimes avoid God when we’re struggling. (Gen. 3:8-10)
    • But reflection brings growth—don’t be afraid to face where you are spiritually.
  • Engage in Acts of Service
    • Serving others builds confidence, keeps us focused outward, and gives life meaning. (Gal. 6:2)
    • It also helps us develop gratitude and spiritual maturity.
  • Keep the Sabbath
    • Worship and rest are essential. Sabbath isn’t just about catching up—it’s about being filled up. (Mark 2:27-28)

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.”
